My BIL and SIL are expecting their first child. It is a very exciting time. I like to listen to them talk about their preparations and expectations. Takes me back to becoming a mom for the first time. Just this weekend I told my BIL and brother (who is also expecting his first child) nothing can truly prepare you for what happens when your first baby is born. Not only can the unexpected happen, like the baby is rushed to the NICU because she swallowed her meconium, just like with my big girl M. The event of having a baby is just the surface of the whole experience, the emotions that you feel when you see and hold your child for the first time is just indescribable.
