Yoga - Grayslake Photographer

I posted my annual Halloween post early so make sure you check it out.  Today I have two fantastic sessions to share.  

First, This beautiful Yoga instructor Leticia check out her FB business page here.  I was so excited when she contacted me regarding this project.  I LOVE Yoga! It has been one of my life changers.  

Leticia had such beautiful, positive energy at our session.  That's what I really wanted to capture.   

Right after she said she was happy with the images we captured the rain started to pour down.  As we were walking to the car getting drenched she said to me, "the universe always conspires in our favor."  The rain had waited for us to finish.  I will always remember that.  

Thank you Leticia it was an honor to work with you on this project.  I appreciate you sharing your love of Yoga with me.

Halloween Emotions - Grayslake Photographer

This years family themed costumes were perfectly chosen by the youngest member of our family.  After throwing around some ideas, he went with the 5 emotions in the Disney/Pixar movie Inside Out.  We had so much fun putting this look together!

Joy: I'm Joy, this is Sadness, that's Anger, this is Disgust.
Disgust: Ugh...
Joy: And that's Fear.
Fear: Ahhh! Look out!

Hubby said this was a role he could really get into.  I think they were roles we all got into.

Anger: "Is it garbage night? We left the toilet seat up! What? What is it, woman? What?!"

Sadness: "It's long term memory... you'll get lost in there."
Joy: "C'mon! Think positive!"
Sadness: "Okay... I'm positive that you'll get lost in there!"

Fear: "All right! We did not die today, I call that an unqualified success."

Disgust: "What's pu-ber-tee?"

Joy: "Come on group hug! You too, Anger."
Anger: "Don't touch me."

There are moments when I wish I could roll back the clock and take all the sadness away, but I have the feeling that if I did, the joy would be gone as well. - N. Sparks

Epic Fall - Grayslake Family Photographer

So many wonderful things have happened this fall.  Not only is my photography business going great, we've had some awesome family adventures and celebrations.  So much so that one of my kiddos just said today, "I know we haven't had holidays yet but all these things that have happened seem like holidays."

Suffering is a part of life.  If you are human you will suffer.  Old age, sickness and death, known as the heavenly messengers, knock on everyone's door.  There has been and will be heartaches and disappointments.  I'm not trying to be a Debbie downer... it's just the truth.  It's a truth that I'm opening to accept.  I'm accepting this truth by finding joy right now, every day.  My eyes are open to joy.  I see it every where and in every thing.  I feel like; since I'm looking for it, it has found me too.  

My joy filled fall:  

Plus my sister got married this weekend!  I just finished downloading the hundreds of pictures.  I will have to share a few another time.  This image is from a FUNtastic ladies night a few days before the wedding.

What you seek will find you.  I am looking for joy and it has certainly found me.  

  

Fall Family Session - Grayslake Family Photographer

Another beautiful fall family session on the blog today.  It's an early blog since I will be out of town tomorrow but I couldn't wait another week to post a preview of this awesome session.

 Working with kids is so much fun! This little guy is an energetic, adorable 2 year old.  

Not sure what is going on in the image above but I love it! 

This image was taken after the little princess got into my new bag of suckers... Mental note always keep an eye on the suckers... lol! She is beautiful!

S Family - Grayslake Family Photographer

I have two beautiful families on the blog this week, make sure to check them out.

I've photographed this awesome family before.
These kiddos know exactly what to do.  I think they've done this once or twice.

This time we brought in a family member that was left out of the last session.  I know how important it was to the family to make sure we got a few of these.  These will be a treasure for a long time to come.

 I love dad's honesty, after the session he says to me: " I thought this was going to be a pure debacle but it all turned out pretty good."  lol!  I'll take that as a compliment.  ;)
