Maternity Session - Grayslake Family Photographer

Hi there! It's been a while.  I'm still here :) Quietly trying to figure it all out. One thing is for certain, things are always changing.

My beautiful friend contacted me to document the wonderful change coming to her family.  Her little guy is expected in the next few weeks! What an exciting time!

I've been photographing Miss E since she was a newborn.  She has grown up so much!

Beautiful mommy!

Love this funny moment between mom and dad.

Can't wait to meet your little bundle of joy!

Spring Maternity Session - Grayslake Photographer

I had the honor of photographing these lovely parents to be.  Can you believe this rock star woman is just days away from giving birth?  She is still hitting the gym on a regular basis.
It was great working with both of them.

Thank you for asking me to capture this special time in your life.
Special thank you to my friend Xochy for the awesome referral.

Maternity Session - Grayslake Family Photographer

This beautiful family came by for a maternity session. It was great working with them, they were pros in front of the camera.  Here is a sneak peek:

Mom has this wonderful glow to her.

Big sister is a doll! I could take her picture all day.

Simple, clean and beautiful exactly what a family portrait should be.

Congratulations! What an exciting time for your family. Thank you for coming to Grayslake.
I hope to see you guys soon.

Maternity Session Smile - Grayslake Photographer

I love it when friends I haven't seen in a long, long time (since high school) contact me for a photo session.  Not only do we get to catch up chatting in between shots; I also have the privilege of capturing beautiful images for them.  That's exactly what happened here with this beautiful mama...

At one point we discussed some photography challenges like getting everyone to smile, especially when you have multiple little ones in a family.  Sometimes everyone just doesn't smile at the same time and I have to make a composite image.  Moving faces and smiles into one perfectly happy image is something that takes some practice.  My beautiful friend let me know that her handsome husband doesn't smile in images.  Below was the first set of images and I think these smiles are pretty good...

As we started having fun the smiles kept coming...

This was the last set of images (below).  They were so comfortable with the camera and having fun. You just can't Photoshop this kind of love and joy displayed through smiles.

Thank you S for the opportunity to capture you and your husband during this very special time.  It really was a privilege and I hope to see you guys again soon with your new little blessing!

Maternity Session Part 2 - Grayslake Photographer

Make sure you check out the other maternity session I posted today.

This was my first time working with this gorgeous mama.  She rocked this session and was open to try whatever I had planned.

You can't tell but she is past her due date!
Her little love will be here any day now.

I am stunning!

 I am fearless!

Thank you for stepping out of your comfort zone and trusting me to capture your "I am..."

Maternity Session - Grayslake Photographer and Writer

"I am..." We can put anything behind that phrase: woman, mother, beautiful.  Not only can we place anything behind "I am" we are also free to define what woman, mother and beautiful mean.

I had the privilege of working with two beautiful expecting mothers who wanted to broaden the definition of what pregnant is and looks like.  Make sure you check out both blogs today.

First my friend X.  I've never known her to be shy or nervous about anything.  When she told me she was nervous, I thought she was joking.  She did fantastic and knew exactly the look she was going for.

X works as a personal trainer and I love her silhouette.
She is the creator of her own story.
I'm fortunate to capture it for her.

Maternity Session - Grayslake Maternity Photographer

One of my beautiful amigas is going to have her third little one in just a few months.  I jumped at the chance to photograph her glorious glow.  There are so many wonderful shots it was really hard to decide on a sneak peek.

This handsome guy told me that I smile and laugh a lot.  :D He also told me that I should wear a dress while photographing.  And he wondered why I smiled and laughed so much!?

No words, just simply beautiful!

Congratulations W Family! Can't wait to meet your new little blessing from above.
