LIGHTS - Chicago Area Photographer

The lights at the club last week inspired me to do a photo project with lights. This is the perfect time because we all have lots of lights inside our home. The following photo's were taken of my Christmas tree lights. Happy Holiday's!

"I gotta feeling..." - Chicago Area Event Photographer

... That tonight's gonna be a good night"

-Black Eyed Peas I Gotta Feeling

And it was a really good night at A's 15th Birthday party. Here are the highlights:

What did the highschoolers have at the club to eat and drink?

I want to know who these kids are texting if all their friends are at the party?
"Tonight we're going hard
Just like the world is ours
We're tearin' it apart
You know we're superstars
We are who we are!"
-Kesha We Are Who We Are

"I've had the time of my life

And I've never felt this way before

And I swear this is true

And I owe it all to you"

Winter Wonderland - Chicago Area Photographer

Winter in Chicago is no joke... brrrrr.... and just 5 more months to go. HA! We were spoiled in the south for 6 yrs, at the mere mention of snow everything shuts down.

It sure is beautiful there is no mistaking that. For these shots I bundled up and went out to capture the beauty of this winter wonder-landscape.

This will be the first of a series of snow blogs to come.

"When snow falls, nature listens." - Antoinette Van Kleeff, dutch artist

"The color of springtime is in the flowers, the color of winter is in the imagination." -Terri Guillemets, quotation anthologist

"A lot of people like snow. I find it to be an unnecessary freezing of water." - Carl Reiner, actor

"Winter is the season in which people try to keep the house as warm as it was in the summer, when they complained about the heat." - Unknown

"At Christmas all roads lead home." - Marjorie Holmes, author

"The first fall of snow is not only an event, it is a magical event. You go to bed in one kind of a world and wake up in another quite different, and if that is not enchantment then where is it to be found?" - J B Priestley, English novelist

Little Hands & Little Feet Prepare - Chicago Area Photographer

Little hands and little feet prepare for the holidays... I was inspired by a friends blog for these sets of pics. Her blog was reflecting on what it would be like to experience the holidays through her child's eyes. As I thought about my own children, I thought maybe they can't tell me what they "see", but just maybe I can capture what their hands and feet have to say about it. :) So the day after hubby and I set out the tree and lights, I brought out their own mini tree and trim. I stayed back with camera in hand ready to click away and "see".

"Never worry about the size of your Christmas tree. In the eyes of children they are 30 feet tall." - Larry Wilde, author

"And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes, or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps means a little bit more." - Dr Suess

"It is good to be children sometimes, and never better then at Christmas when it's might Founder was a child Himself ." - Charles Dickens

"There is nothing sadder in this world than to awake Christmas morning and not be a child." - Erma Bombeck writer

"The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree: the presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other." - Burton Hillis poet

"Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmas-time." - Laura Ingalls Wilder

Coming of Age - Chicago Family Photographer

My niece A is celebrating her 15th birthday, a very special day in Mexican culture. This birthday marks the transition from childhood to young womanhood. It is often celebrated with a fiesta called a Quinceanera. The celebration highlights God, family, friends, music, food and dance. Hopefully those pics will come soon ;)

As we were out having fun I couldn't help but notice how grown up she is; I remember buying diapers for her. We are all very proud of the young woman she has become. She is a straight A student and exceptional volleyball player. There is no limit to her future success.

A- I am super proud of you and love you with all my heart!

Adorable Baby A - Chicago Family Photographer

Adorable Baby A was all smiles when I arrived for our shoot. Once the camera came out it quickly disappeared and was replaced by a serious, inquisitive look which made for a very nice, dramatic affect. Thanks mom and dad for trying your best to make her smile, but I guess she knew what she was doing :) . I also want to thank you for opening your home to me and letting me bear witness to your beautiful family.

Man's Best Friend- Chicago Area Photographer

This was my first time attempting to capture man's best friend, a 5 yo Yorkshire Terrier. I love a challenge and what a challenge this was. We only had 15 min for this impromptu shoot and she decided to run around and chase the dog next door. HA! She had her tongue sticking out in most of the images because she was panting from running around so fast. I could barely keep up!

This is my fav shot because it pretty much describes her and our shoot...
