Flourishing - Chicago Area Photographer

Make sure you check out my Halloween blog that I posted last night!

I started my blog three years ago with three of these beautiful ladies.  During those three years we have all flourished.

I am so honored that my dear friend who is a wonderful photographer and artist asked me to take these.

Three beautiful generations of strong, creative, and successful females.

This image is beautiful in color because of the scenery but when I turned it to b&w it became all about her bright smile.

Julieta is not only an artist/photographer gives a helping hand to aspiring artist through her FB page Soaringbird Studios.
She has always cheered me on and encouraged me with my passion.
I am blessed to have such a wonderful friend.

It's a Happy Halloween - Chicago Area Photographer

I love Halloween! Always have and always will. It is my favorite holiday and the most wonderful time of the year.  There are so many reasons I love it.

I have so many wonderful memories of my mom hand making every one of my costumes.  Her creativity and originality was and still is the best!

This is the fifth year we do a family themed costume. It is just so much fun.  We spend hours talking different costume ideas.  We already have our theme set for next year... HA! We sit around and talk about this at dinner time.  We laugh a lot.  We dream.  We share... together.

This is my family... I love them to death... LOL!

This is the person who gives me the hardest time about family costumes and look at him (above)....

Did I mention that my hubby is the one that gives me the hardest time about family themed costumes?

And this is me... Can you tell how happy I am?  So I have two huge horns coming out of my head and the pic isn't centered but this demonstrates the best how much joy I am feeling.  :)

Making some fun memories... it's a Happy Halloween!

Newborn J - Chicago Area Family Photographer

I have the honor of presenting this little guy.  We had a beautiful maternity session a few months ago.  This is boy #3 for mom and dad and they are doing a great job keeping up with 3 little ones under 4 years old.

Beautiful Mama, bouncing back so quickly!

I love this story board.  I've known this couple since college and I am so impressed by everything they have accomplished together.  I'm sure it isn't easy and it takes a lot of work; it is beautiful to see their love grow as their family grows.

A very hands on dad!

sweet baby

A third little one can you bring you to the point of exhaustion and delirium.  Mom and dad are working together and laughing together.

Family G, Congratulations!

Twins - Chicago Area Children Photographer

I had the privilege of working with new clients in the beautiful urban setting of Chicago.  These adorable kiddos are my first set of twins.  They were so much fun!

Brother could have sat there all day clapping and smiling.

Meanwhile, sister gave me this look - "Oh no you don't think I'm just going to sit here.  I've got places to go, things to do."

Sure enough she is a mover and a shaker!

An outtake... sister trying to escape... so much personality... I love it!

Mom and dad thank you so much for contacting me.  What a blessing it is for me to meet you and your beautiful kiddos.

A Mustard Seed - Chicago Area Photographer

This special, beautiful little girl lives.... well actually lived in our neighborhood.  She would often come by and come over to play with my kiddos.  One day last week she sadly told us that she would be moving far away.

During one of her many visits she explained to me that she had a lot of stuff going on at home but that it was private and she was instructed that she couldn't share private stuff with anyone.  I told her that I totally understood that but if she ever needed anyone to talk to I would be here for her.

I knew that there was nothing that I could do about her moving away and wondered if I did enough to extended a welcoming home to her.
What I did do was what has been done for me....
Right before she left I looked deep into her eyes and I spoke words of love, hope and faith to her ears, mind and heart.  I told her how special she is and how God is watching over her where ever she goes.  Among other things, I told her that I loved her.  When I was finished she told me that she would always pretend that we were related and she was part of our family.  She said, "after all we have the same hair color and eye color so maybe we were family..."  I gave her a hug and so did all of my kiddos and I watched her walk home, she moved away the following day.

Although I felt that I couldn't physically change the path of her life.  I felt like I could plant seeds of love in her heart that will stay with her and grow.

About a year ago someone planted seeds in my heart.  A stranger... someone I met while I was photographing an event.  Those seeds were part of the growth of something new in my life, a big change.  He sends me his "winning words" on a daily basis but he goes even further and sends me a personal email every once in a while "checking" in on me making sure the seeds he has planted continue to grow.

I did get her new address and I have sent her the picture above passing along the love and hope that has been expressed to me.  Pastor Freed, I am passing your love and hope forward... thank you!
