New Beginning - Chicago Area Photojournalist

"Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end." (Roman philosopher, mid 1st century AD)

This has been one busy week. We said good bye to our house in Palatine and hello to our new home in Grayslake. I wanted to take a few pics of the kids before we left our house. My three little "pajaritos" were too busy.

A New Beginning - Chicago Area Nature Photographer

"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11

As I recited this to myself on Saturday I looked out the window and saw this amazing sight.
The first image was taken Sat evening and the rest were taken Sun morning. It's amazing how much they grew in less then one day.

The Canale Art Lounge Presents "Celebrating Women Artist" - Chicago Area Event Photographer

Here are some shots from the Canale Art Lounge, Celebrating Women Artists. Thank you to everyone who came out and showed support. A special thank you to Julieta Alvarez who made all of this possible.

The Canale Art Lounge is located in a beautiful and historic building.

I was so impressed by the art of Roxana Diaz. Unfortunately these images do not do her work justice. It's 3 D art, she has woven material into the canvas. WOW! I had never seen anything like this before. It was pretty amazing. Check out her blog and website. She lives in Mexico and sent the art. I would love to meet her one day.

Beautiful designs by the talented Angelica Santoyo, find her company on FB: Angel Eyes Designs.

DJ Magpie

A family of artists and photographers.

A new photog friend, Jose Calvo who has photographed many female artists.

It was a very special night for me.

Rain, Rain, Go Away - Chicago Area Nature Photographer

The hardest thing about moving back to the Chicago area from the south is the weather. It rained almost every day. Since I find photography therapeutic, I really needed it last week. I bring you my subject: the rain and all it's glory.

I've also placed links to great songs about the rain throughout this blog. Enjoy!

"Have You Ever Seen the Rain?," by Creedence Clearwater Revival

"Here Comes the Rain Again," by Eurythmics

"Purple Rain," by Prince

"Can't Stand the Rain," by Missy Elliot

"Singin' In the Rain," by Gene Kelly

"Rain," by Madonna

Don't forgot to stop by the Canale Art Lounge, located at 500 W. 18th Street in Chicago, where I will be displaying some of my work on Friday, May 13th from 6 - 11:30 pm. I'd love to meet you and thank you for visiting my blog in person.
