Happy Easter - Chicago Area Documentary Photographer

This last week of Lent I put messages inside plastic eggs and left them in various locations. Here is the journey of some of those eggs...

The note said, "Have a great day."

"The sun is shinning inside of you," the message inside this egg. When I snapped this shot the sun was shinning for just a minute. The rest of the week not so much.

Yes that is snow...

This egg I left in a Walmart shopping cart. The note said, "Don't worry, be happy."

This is a girls dressing room at the mall. "You are beautiful, that's for sure."

Happy Easter from my family to yours!

Spring? - Chicago Area Photographer

March 20th was the official start of spring, but 4 weeks later it sure doesn't feel like it here with temps in the 40s. This week I took my lil' monsters out to see if we could capture any signs of spring. BTW- we had snow flurries yesterday. Winter just doesn't want to let us go.

"The first day of spring is one thing, and the first spring day is another. The difference between them is sometimes as great as a month." Henry Van Dyke, American author

"No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow." Proverb

"In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt." Margaret Atwood, Canadian poet "If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcomed." Anne Bradstreet, poet "If you've never been thrilled to the very edges of your soul by a flower in spring bloom, maybe your soul has never been in bloom." Terri Guillemets, quotation anthologist "In the spring I have counted one hundred and thirty-six different kinds of weather inside of four and twenty hours." Mark Twain

"Where man sees but withered leaves, God sees sweet flowers growing." Albert Laighton, poet

"It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light and winter in the shade." Charles Dickens

"The day the Lord created hope was probably the same day he created Spring." Bern Williams, author

The Matriarch - Chicago Area Family Photographer

Since I posted my youngest subject last week, I found it fitting that this week I would post a few of my 87 year young G-Ma. She recently had a birthday. I should add that there is some debate to exactly how old she is. When I asked her she answered, "They tell me I'm 87, but who knows." I'm so glad that I took these of her; a true treasure that I will cherish forever.

I asked my G-Ma to smile for me. She has such a great sense of humor. She said, "I'm so old I've forgotten how to smile."

I think hands tell so much about a person. I love hand shots. These hands raised 9 children.

"Nobody grows old merely by living a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul." - Samuel Ullman, American poet

My G-Ma is full of life and enthusiasm, so to answer her question her soul is about 25.

I love you G-Ma!

Thank you for checking out my blog. I've had hundreds of new viewers in the last few weeks: Bienvenidos! Welcome! I post a new blog every Sunday night, so check back weekly and take a look.

My First Little Angel- Chicago Area Photographer

My first newborn Baby E at 9 days old was such a sweetie pie. She spent most of the session awake. I wrapped her up and finally got her to sleep for me. Congratulations R family on the new addition to your family! There are lots of great newborn photographers out there. As I take on different projects I ask myself what can I offer that makes me stand out amongst the rest. I hope you find that I can take beautiful traditional portraits and I can also offer you a work of art.

Look at all that beautiful hair.

There is something about an image of a crying baby/child that I love.

Newborns are best captured within the first 2 weeks of life. Sessions last between 2-3 hrs in order to have plenty of breaks in between for feeding and rocking. I am offering great newborn session prices with a free 8x10, for a limited time . Please contact me for additional information. email@angelclarkphotography.com
